Griffin's Feather Inspiration: Meet Inua Ellams!

If you've already read The Griffin's Feather, you've met a character named Inua Ellams—in the story, he's a talented singer, advocate for African birds, and member of FREEFAB.

Cornelia met Inua when they connected at a storytelling festival in Australia several years ago. When he performed his poetry, Inua's voice captivated Cornelia, and she knew it was a matter of time before he reappeared as a character in one of her stories!

Inua Ellams is a Nigerian-born, U.K.-based poet, playwright, performer, and more. You can read about him and latest projects on his website. And, if you're in the US, you can meet his namesake character soon! The Griffin's Feather comes out next year with Scholastic, and we can't wait for you to read it!
